Dan Heider, outreach specialist in the Department of Horticulture, received the Education Award from the Wisconsin Crop Production Association. Heider conducts studies to support herbicide registrations in minor crops and test herbicide performance, and provides excellent weed management education and programs. In particular, he has been a principle coordinator of the WCPA’s Custom Applicator Program, which will be held for the third year this March. Heider is also the coordinator of the UW Crop Diagnostic Training Center, which presents highly-rated, hands-on training and troubleshooting workshops at the Arlington Station each summer, and provides training at several other events through out the year.
