May 15 conference looks at future of Wisconsin farming and rural life

“Our Future, Our Heritage” is the theme of a statewide conference, May 14-15. The conference is the culminating event of the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters’ Future of Farming and Rural Life in Wisconsin Initiative.

The event will gather a large audience passionate about the issues facing rural communities. There will be respected speakers, audience interaction, ample networking and cultural opportunities. Participants will discuss the project’s intended recommendations and explore the topics of production agriculture, land use and conservation, food systems and community, which includes the social, economic and cultural aspects of rural life, and celebrate farming and rural life in Wisconsin.
