April 11 talk offers a look at the evolution of a SW Wisconsin ethanol/livestock enterprise

An Aprill 11 brownbag will offer a look at an integrated agri-energy ethanol development project in southwestern Wisconsin. Tim Baye of UW-Extension’s Southeast Business Management Program will talk about Lafayette Bio-Ag LLC and Belmont Bio-Ag, LLCan — an integrated ethanol plant, beef finishing facility and electrical generation project. The project evolved from an effort to establish a feedlot in southwest Wisconsin to keep cattle from leaving the state for finishing.

Baye believed in the project enough to take a leave-of-absence from UW-Extension to become CEO of Lafayette Bio-Ag, LLC for the last 2 years during the project’s development phase. He returned to UW-Extension in January with a wealth of experience and will discuss some of those experiences.
