CALS welcomed students to campus over the last couple of weeks with orientation and other activities for new and returning students. The CALS Fall Welcome and Orientation took place on Sept. 5, and other Welcome Week events followed with classes starting on Sept. 6. At the CALS Student Organization Fair on Sept. 8, 400 attendees were introduced to 30 organizations.

The first undergraduates to arrive were students involved in CALS QuickStart, a summer program designed to prepare incoming CALS first-year students to succeed in college. Speaking to QuickStart students, CALS Dean Glenda Gillaspy said, “We are welcoming 590 new students to the college this semester and we couldn’t be more excited. I am so impressed with UW-Madison CALS students — your passions, experiences, and talents. We take pride in the places you’ll go.”

The photos below show a few of the CALS back to campus activities. Full albums of Fall Welcome and QuickStart photos are available on CALS Flickr. Photos by Michael P. King/UW–Madison CALS.

Thanks to all who continue to welcome our students to the start of a new semester!
