June 2021 update from University Bicycle Resource Center

Our next bicycle class, “How to Buy/Select a Bicycle & Basic Bicycle Fit – Virtual,” will be on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 from noon to 1:30 p.m. Get tips on how to select and purchase a bike best suited to your needs and how to assure your bike fits you well. Class taught by Chuck Strawser, UW Bicycle & Pedestrian Coordinator. Pre-registration on Zoom is required, with no attendee cap. Once you are approved by the host, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions for joining the session. Register at  If you miss the class, a recording of this class should be available after the event. A Youtube playlist for recordings of all of our past virtual classes is at .

We will be posting fall 2021 and spring 2022 class dates sometime over the summer at (scroll to the bottom of the page). We hope to move to in person classes in fall 2021 but will continue to monitor the public health conditions and guidance and, if necessary, can pivot to virtual classes again if prudent.

Over the summer we will be working to hire student staff for the shop. If you or anyone you know has an interest in this student work opportunity, please email me directly. We hope to be able to reopen in August or September for drop in DIY bike work. However, in the meantime you can still perform DIY bicycle repairs at outdoor air and repair stations located throughout campus (see the map at ).

Stay cool, it’s gonna be a hot weekend.
