Attend the Distance Teaching and Learning Conference for free, Aug. 3-7

The following message was sent to UW–Madison employees by Jeff Russell, Vice Provost for Lifelong Learning and Dean of Continuing Studies, and Steve Cramer, Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning, on June 9, 2020:

We are proud to host the Distance Teaching & Learning (DT&L) conference, an event that has taken place in-person in Madison, Wisconsin since 1985. This year has brought with it many challenges, and we are privileged to be able to continue to offer our conference in 2020 despite the difficulties of the pandemic. We are working with a world-renowned professional streaming partner, Mediasite, to be able to host our conference remotely.

While the world of education may look a little different right now, we know that learning & professional development never stops. It has been incredible watching everyone band together to keep the University moving forward. As a sincere thank you for all your hard work, it is our pleasure to invite you as our guest free of charge to this year’s 100% virtual Distance Teaching & Learning Conference from August 3 – 7, 2020. [For the discount code that waives the conference fee for UW–Madison employees only, refer to the June 9 email sent to you, or contact conference director Wendy Fritz at wendy.fritz@wisc.edu.]

When you join us for this year’s DT&L conference, you’ll enjoy over 100 academic sessions on topics ranging across design, teaching, and curriculum led by educators like you, administrators and experts from large and small institutions around the world. There will also be multiple opportunities to network, engage in thought-provoking discussions, and learn about the latest technology tools and products.

This conference is a great opportunity to take in distance education best practices, how to enhance the student experience, and learning outcome achievement should we need to continue delivering instruction remotely due to the pandemic.
