Mark your calendar and RSVP for the Big Data and Ecoinformatics in Agricultural Research symposium on Thursday, April 27, 2017. People from across campus are encouraged to attend the day-long event held at Union South and hosted by the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. The goal of this symposium is to highlight the use of Big Data within the agricultural sector as well as provide a broader outlook on the topic.
The symposium will help define parameters, offer a historical perspective and enable discussions about the promises and perils associated with Big Data applications in this field. Interests in this topic are diverse—from on-farm applications, policy approaches and academic programs and initiatives—and make this a rich area for exploration of interrelation and how the college might develop a centralized core that engages on a larger scale.
