The executive committees of the Departments of Landscape Architecture and Urban & Regional Planning recently approved a proposal to merge the two departments and to locate the new Department of Planning and Landscape Architecture in the College of Letters and Science.

CALS Academic Planning Council’s guidelines on evaluating departmental restructuring require that a public hearing be held to permit members of the CALS community to review and comment on the proposed restructuring.

That hearing is scheduled for December 9th, from 4:00-4:30 p.m., immediately following the 2:30-4:00 all-college meeting. Both meetings will take place in Ebling Auditorium in the Microbial Sciences Building.

During the all-college meeting, Dean VandenBosch will present a brief overview of the proposal to help provide context for the discussion in the 4:00 session, which will be hosted by the APC. The proposal is posted on the APC website. Those who cannot attend the public hearing but who wish to provide input are invited to send questions and comments to the APC, c/o Debbie Schiess at debbie.schiess@wisc.edu no later than Friday, December 16^th.
