New campus shuttle system for people with mobility issues

As a result of input received through the Campus Transit and Accessible Transportation Study and from the Accessible Transportation Working Group, UW Transportation Services is pleased to announce the launch of an Accessible Circulator Shuttle Pilot Program. The new service will begin Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 7:30am.

The shuttle is intended to supplement campus bus and paratransit service for those with mobility issues, whether temporary or permanent. You may board at any of five designated fixed route stops or call for pickup at another location within the service boundary. You may request drop-off anywhere within the service boundary. Shuttles arrive to fixed stops every 20 minutes. More information, including printable maps and schedules, is posted at www.transportation.wisc.edu.

To schedule a pickup, call 608-890-1352 or email uwshuttle@badgerbus.com. The service will be prepared to take your call/email beginning 9/2/2014. Please do not call for service before this date.

This pilot is for the period of one year. The performance and results of the pilot, as well as available funding, will determine if service is extended beyond the first year. Questions or comments regarding this pilot project can be directed to UW Transportation Services Commuter Solutions at tdm@fpm.wisc.edu.
