Proceeds from pints of pale ale help promote programs pertaining to passenger pigeons

2014 marks the centennial of the extinction of the passenger pigeon. To commemorate this milestone the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters is partnering with UW conservation biologist and Wisconsin Academy fellow Stan Temple for an array of fall programing related to the passenger pigeon.

In support of Temple’s work in educating the public about the challenges of conserving species, Capital Brewery is releasing Passenger Pigeon India Pale Ale.

The beer release party is from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 4 at Capital Brewery, 8001 Terrace Ave., Middleton, and will feature live music and food by Caracas Empanadas. The event is free and open to the public.

A portion of proceeds from the sale Passenger Pigeon India Pale Ale will support wildlife conservation work in Wisconsin.
