First annual Badger Dairy Challenge yields win-win situation

The first-annual Badger Dairy Challenge, launched by Ted Halbach to help prepare CALS dairy science students for the North American Intercollegiate Dairy Challenge, proved to be a valuable event for both the students who participated and the farm they evaluated, Statz Brothers Farm of Sun Prairie, WI. While the students gained a hands-on experience assessing the workings of a real-world dairy operation, one group helped spark a viable idea to increase milk production on the farm. Statz Brothers Farm plans to implement the idea and see if it works. Read more about this win-win situation here.
