The Center for Integrated Agricultural Systems invites graduate student applications for our new summer mini-grant program. These awards, intended to fund projects to be completed by August 30, 2013, will fund up to $1,000 for graduate student work aligning with the major themes of CIAS: perennialization across the Wisconsin landscape; climate change and sustainable energy; grazing; beginning farmer programming; organic agriculture; farm-to-school; and local and regional food systems (see www.cias.wisc.edu for further information).
Funds cannot be used for travel to conferences and meetings. However, funds may be used for graduate student salary, travel required to conduct research, and supplies. To be eligible, the faculty advisor of the student must be or must become a faculty associate of CIAS.
The application deadline is April 15. For the full request for proposals, please contact Erin Silva, Associate Director of CIAS, firstname.lastname@example.org.
