CIAS offers graduate project assistantships for fall 2013

The Center for Integrated Agricultural Systems invites graduate student applications for three “bridging PA-ships” for fall through spring semesters, 2013-2014. These are 9-month 33 percent time assistantships with tuition remission available to students whose advisor, or potential advisor, is a faculty associate of CIAS.

We intend these PA-ships to be bridges in two senses. First, we hope that these short-term assistantships can help bridge students across funding gaps. Second, the duties of the PAs will be half time (16.5 percent) to work on existing projects in CIAS and half time (16.5 percent) to develop the student’s own masters or PhD work into a funded project in line with CIAS’s mission, under the direction of the student’s faculty advisor but with support from CIAS staff. Thus, we hope these PA-ships will serve as short-term bridges and long-term bridges for both funding and research

The application deadline is March 18. To obtain the full application, please contact Erin Silva, Associate Director of CIAS,
