Ben Brancel, who has been serving CALS as State Relations Liaison since March 2009, has been picked by Gov. Scott Walker to serve as Secretary of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection secretary. While at CALS, Brancel’s primary responsibility has been to help strengthen ties between CALS Agricultural Research Stations and the communities they serve, and to help ARS plan for the future. He will be on familiar ground in his new position. He served as DATCP secretary under Gov.
