Garrett O’Keefe, former professor and chair in the CALS Department of Life Sciences Communication, will receive the Harold L. Nelson Award from the UW-Madison School of Journalism and Mass Communication on April 17. The award recognizes achievement in mass communication research. O’Keefe, who earned his doctorate in mass communication at Wisconsin and is now on the faculty at Colorado State University, has written extensively on public opinion, political communication, environmental and risk communication.
