Intellectual Property Series: Materials Transfer Agreement

Issues relating to receipt of materials for research purposes will be discussed. Often these materials are necessary components of research projects and are available only from a single source, frequently a company. Because the provider and universities have different missions and goals, Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) terms often must be negotiated to accommodate the needs of both parties. The speaker will discuss the process for establishing an MTA, and terms in MTAs that may conflict with laws or university policies.
