Jan. 17 forum features CALS faculty on status of Wisconsin agriculture

Please join us for the Wisconsin Ag Outlook Forum to get the first look at the 2008 Status of Wisconsin Agriculture report and learn more about the emerging issues and opportunities of Wisconsin agriculture from CALS and UW-Extension leaders. An Ag Leaders Reception will be held after the forum.

The event takes place Thursday, January 17, 2008, 2:30 – 5:30 p.m., in Room 1520 Microbial Sciences Building

On the program:

Status of Wisconsin Agriculture 2008 Report — Agricultural economist Bruce Jones will summarize the financial outlook for Wisconsin’s agriculture industry, and moderate a discussion with other commodity experts including: Bob Cropp (dairy), Pat Luby (livestock) and A.J. Bussan (specialty crops).

Emerging issues — Providing their insights on these selected topics will be:

  • Bio-energy, Pat Walsh
  • Land Use, Alan Turnquist
  • Farm Labor, Jill Harrison
  • Farm Bill, Bruce Jones
