Mark Rickenbach, Forest and Wildlife Ecology, was recently appointed as a Trustee to the Great Lakes Forest Alliance. The appointment was based on his experience in research and outreach related to private forests and their owners. The appointment runs from 2008-2011.
The Great Lakes Forest Alliance, Inc. is a non-profit organization established to foster and facilitate cooperative efforts that enhance management and sustainable use of public and private forest lands in Michigan, Minnesota, Ontario, and Wisconsin. The Alliance is governed by a 25-member Board of Trustees representing a broad range of forest resource interests, including Chief/State Foresters, the academic community, conservation groups, forest industry, private landowners, and local and county governments.
