Nominations sought for Honorary Recognition and Distinguished Service Awards

Public nominations for the 2007 CALS Honorary Recognition Award and the Distinguished Service Award are due April 17, 2007. Honorary Recognition honors individuals who have demonstrated leadership and inspiration to others in agriculture, natural resources and the life sciences. It is the highest honor bestowed by the College. The Distinguished Service Award honors individuals and faculty/administration members whose careers have had a major impact on the College.

Honorary Recognition Award. Since 1909, the college has recognized nearly 450 individuals for outstanding service. Each award recipient has given unselfishly of time and talent, improved the lives of many, and enriched their communities and society. The nominee may be an individual, partnership or group of two or three individuals; corporations are not eligible for this award. Awards are presented October 25, 2007 in the Great Hall, Memorial Union, UW-Madison at the CALS Honorary Recognition Banquet. The banquet is an opportunity to celebrate connections between the College and its friends, supporters and stakeholders. A nomination form is available at:

Distinguished Service Award. The Distinguished Service Award was established in 1994 to recognize individuals and faculty/administration members whose careers have had a major impact on the College. To submit a nomination, please supply the following information. The candidate should be nominated for specific, measurable and sustained contributions to the College in service, research, teaching or extension. A nomination form is available at
