For birthday, James Crow gave gift of music to genetics department
James Crow, professor emeritus of genetics, celebrated his 91st birthday on a positive note. Crow, on viola, performed Mozarts Duo in G Major for Violin and Viola alongside violinist Brian Lee, a UW-Madison freshman.
The two performed for genetics faculty, staff and students in the Genetics/Biotechnology Centers auditorium on Jan. 24. Crow, who played viola in the Madison Symphony Orchestra from 1949 until 1993, also gave a departmental concert to mark his 90th birthday.
