Lightning Talk Applications

The Plant Science Graduate Student Council is currently accepting lightning talk presenter applications for the 2025 Plant Sciences Symposium. Lightning talks will be presented in-person between the morning and afternoon sessions. If you have concerns about attendance, note them in the form.

Lightning talks will showcase the innovative research of graduate students through short (2-3 minute) presentations. Presenters are allowed 1-2 slides for visual effect during their presentation. All lightning talk participants will receive a certificate and a small gift from PSGSC, and crowd-voted favorite presentations will receive an additional prize. If you wish to participate, please fill out the following form and include a brief summary of your talk (fewer than 150 words). Lightning talk applications close on Monday, October 27.

Poster Presentation Application

The Plant Science Graduate Student Council is also accepting poster presenter applications. Poster presentations will be held in-person during the scheduled lunch break. If you have concerns about attendance, reach out to Jill at jabendroth@wisc.edu.

Posters will highlight the research of both graduate and undergraduate students. Poster presentations will be judged based on a rubric, and the highest-scoring presentations in both the undergraduate and graduate categories will receive a prize. If you wish to participate, please fill out the following form and include an abstract of fewer than 300 words. Poster applications close on Monday, October 27.

A limited number of scholarships are available to aid in offset the cost of poster printing, if this is a barrier to presenting for interested parties. Priority will be given to undergraduate researchers for these scholarships.

If you have additional questions, email psgsc@rso.wisc.edu.
