CALS commitment to fostering a strong community

The recently completed UW–Madison strategic framework includes Community Commitments to foster community belonging. As part of living our values, the college is committed to holding people accountable when their behavior undermines our goal of creating a welcoming and supportive environment for our students, staff and faculty. Policies aimed at creating positive climate depend on our willingness to contribute.

Setting the tone for a successful academic year, we are sharing resources that help make our community stronger. The university has policies and procedures that allow community members to intervene, ensure safety and hold people accountable.

Within the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS), you are welcome to contact your advisor, department chair, human resources staff, student services coordinator or any of the CALS associate deans directly.

The university also has reporting mechanisms through the Office of Compliance:

Hostile and intimidating behavior

Sexual harassment and sexual violence

Discrimination, harassment and retaliation

Consensual relationships
