CALS faculty and staff with an interest in the Dairy Innovation Hub are encouraged to attend a college-wide discussion on Tuesday, Jan. 17 2023 on the UW campus. This brainstorming session is an opportunity to discuss plans and priorities for how Hub funding will be invested in the coming years — specifically related to the critical gaps/needs surrounding faculty hiring.

Light refreshments will be provided with an optional networking lunch following the session at Four Lakes Market (Dejope Residence Hall) dining hall, courtesy of the Dairy Innovation Hub.

Please RSVP at https://explore.wisc.edu/facultybrainstorm. Deadline to register is Jan. 13.

Broadly, Dairy Innovation Hub funding approved by the Joint Finance Committee in 2019 supports research personnel (faculty, postdocs and graduate students), equipment, farms and labs in four areas related to dairy that each span many academic disciplines:

  • Stewarding land and water resources
  • Enriching human health and nutrition
  • Ensuring animal health and welfare
  • Growing farm businesses and communities
