International Collegiate Ag Leadership program deadline fast approaching
The application deadline for the 2011 International Collegiate Ag Leadership (I-CAL) program is just a few weeks away. The program is designed for students to learn more about international grain marketing, global agriculture and acquire a unique cultural experience. While part of the program, students will be able to experience all aspects of the agriculture industry; through industry tours, farm and ranch visits, and meetings with local and national leaders and industry experts. Each year the top twelve applicants are selected to be a part of this program. Applicants must:
- Be college students pursuing an agriculture degree
- Be a member of at least one of the following organizations: Ag Communicators of Tomorrow, Ag Future of America, AGR Fraternity, AGS Fraternity, Alpha Tau Alpha, Alpha Zeta, Block and Bridle, Collegiate 4-H, Collegiate FFA, FarmHouse Fraternity, MANRRS, National Agri-Marketing Association, NAADA, Postsecondary Ag Student Organization, PLANET, Sigma Alpha
Pervious I-CAL locations have included Spain, Morocco, Egypt, China, Vietnam, Malaysia and Taiwan. The 2011 program will head to a new location – South America! Tentative dates for the 2011 program are May 15-28 (depending on international airfare). Applications must be postmarked by February 15, 2011 and can be found at www.ffa.org/collegiate.
