Put together emergency kits for family, pets in September, National Preparedness Month

September is the perfect time to put together (or check on) your emergency kits – to mark National Preparedness Month. Wisconsin Emergency Management has some great resources for preparing emergency kits on their ReadyWisconsin website. Check them out using the links below:

  • Home Emergency Kit – Keep your family safe in an emergency. Check out the checklists available to include in your own emergency kit including persons with disabilities and helping those with autism.
  • To Go Kit – Pack a to go bag for each member of your household so they are ready to go as quickly as possible.
  • Vehicle Emergency Kit – Vital supplies should be included in your vehicle in case of being stranded, safety when commuting, and ensuring as safe place until help arrives. Don’t forget those blankets.
  • Pet Emergency Kit – Build a kit for your pet so they can move as quickly as you can.
