Mentorship and professional development opportunities for scholars conducting clinical and translational research

The Pathway Program is recruiting for the next cohort of scholars. Applications are due May 11.

The Pathway Program supports the mentorship and professional development of scholars conducting clinical and translational research at different stages of an academic career through the following programs:

  • ADEPT: ADEPT supports part-time PhD students (enrolled in fewer than eight credits) in the translational and biomedical research workforce who are committed to improving health for all. Through a structured, cohort-based model, ADEPT provides scholars with the time, resources and mentoring needed to thrive academically and professionally while navigating the unique challenges of part-time doctoral training.
  • AHEAD: AHEAD is designed for UW–Madison postdoctoral scholars conducting research related to improving health and well‑being for all. The program addresses common gaps in postdoctoral training by offering a robust combination of mentoring, community-building and career development.
  • STRIDE: STRIDE supports new and early career faculty in the translational, biomedical research workforce whose career aims to improve health for all. The program supports scholars’ well-being, enhances their research and mentoring skills and demystifies the pathways to success in academia during this critical early career stage.
  • LEADS: LEADS supports the well-being and leadership development of mid-career faculty in the translational, biomedical research workforce who are committed to improving health for all. The program helps scholars navigate a critical point in their careers by strengthening key skills, supporting retention, and creating the conditions for long‑term success and sustainability.
