Student submissions for UW–Madison Sustainability Writing Awards due Oct. 15
The second annual UW–Madison Sustainability Writing Awards are inviting submissions from UW graduate students, undergraduates and professional students. In addition to awarding a total of $1000 in prizes, the winners’ work will be published on the Office of Sustainability website, and they will appear on the SustainUW Podcast (if they so choose).
This year, the Sustainability Writing Awards are intended to inspire conversations about how people with different backgrounds, experiences and academic interests can understand the idea of resolution in the context of the global climate crisis. What does resolution look like? What does it mean to be resolute about climate action? Who gets to make resolutions, and how can we think of them from different disciplines and perspectives?
To access the submissions portal, applicants can follow the QR code on the flier below or visit this site. Nonfiction submissions between 750 and 1,800 words will be considered. Submissions are due by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, October 15.
