CALS faculty and staff who are working on courses or program changes for their department can attend a CALS-specific orientation and open lab for the Lumen software system. Governed academic content for courses and programs are approved through Lumen. This includes new courses, course changes to governed content, and program updates to admissions/eligibility, requirements, curriculum, and policies.
This CALS-specific orientation will provide a basic overview of the parts of a Lumen proposal, the responsibilities of the proposer, timelines, and some best practices. Participants can bring this information back to their own departments. Bring a syllabus for a new course or course change to receive guided assistance on how to use it to submit a Lumen proposal. For programs, it may be useful to bring a marked-up Guide page for your program.
CALS faculty or staff with some experience in Lumen can attend all or part of the Open Lab to ask questions and receive guided assistance with their own proposals.
