CDR’s Gary Grossen takes top honors at Green County Fair for aged Gouda

Gary Grossen, research cheesemaker with the Center for Dairy Research, recently took top honors at the Green County Fair for his aged Gouda. As noted in a tweet by the CDR, this is no small feat. The Green County Fair cheese contest is the largest county fair cheese contest in Wisconsin.

Grossen, a Master Cheesemaker, has been a full-time cheesemaker on campus for over 15 years, crafting more than 20 types of cheese. He has received numerous awards for his cheeses over the years. He was honored with a University Staff Recognition Award for his efforts in 2020.
