Grant awarded: USDA funds COVID-19 Rapid Response grant to develop approaches to attenuate pig growth in response to supply chain fluctuations

Tom Crenshaw (Department of Animal & Dairy Sciences) was awarded a grant through the USDA Agriculture and Food Research Initiative’s COVID-19 Rapid Response Program. The program was put in place to target critical issues facing university researchers, small business, and consumers across America during the pandemic. Crenshaw’s award will provide a total of $750K over two years to develop nutritional strategies that allow producers to attenuate pig growth at various production phases to help alleviate unforeseen changes in the supply chain.
