This message was e-mailed to department chairs, center directors and administrators on 3/19/20.
As indicated in the Chancellor’s March 17th communication, effective March 18th, the only employees who should be on campus are essential (individuals identified as necessary to deliver essential services) – all other personnel are now to be adhering to remote/telecommuting policies/procedures.
Thank you for submission of your lists of essential employees. CALS is reviewing all designations, and once approved, will prepare communications to employees to confirm their essential designation. We expect the timeline for issuing communications may roll into next week, as we are pending additional information from campus in regard to research related definitions, along with confirmation of alignment with unit Coop plans.
In regard to student employees, the Office of Human Resources has indicated that student employees are not essential. However, we are working to discuss exceptions in regard to individuals who are essential to animal and plant care. If additional information is needed from you, we will let you know.
