Academic staff: What can CASI do for you?

The UW–Madison College of Agricultural and Life Sciences’ Committee on Academic Staff Issues (CASI) represents academic staff across the college, and is an important part of shared governance at UW–Madison.

CASI representatives, who meet monthly during the academic year, advise the CALS Dean’s Office on the development of policies and procedures that impact academic staff. CASI members also serve on one or more of the following four subcommittees, which carry out other important tasks of the committee. The four subcommittees are:

  • Awards and Professional Development
  • Communications
  • Nominations and Mentoring
  • Personnel Procedures, Compensation and Governance

CASI has already met two times this academic year and discussed a variety of topics. Minutes from those meetings, along with more information about CASI including past annual reports, are all available on the CASI website: http://casi.cals.wisc.edu.

If you wish to share ideas or concerns with your CASI representative, or if you have questions, you can find a list of CASI members at http://casi.cals.wisc.edu/contact/. All CALS academic staff members are encouraged to become informed about issues affecting CALS academic staff and get involved with CASI.

For general questions about CASI, please contact Adam Borger at acborger@wisc.edu or (608)263-7062.
