Funding available for undergraduate and graduate students to attend Farmer Cooperatives Conference

The UW Center for Cooperatives and the Renk Agribusiness Institute are offering scholarship and travel funding for undergraduate and graduate students to attend the Farmer Cooperatives Conference in St. Paul, MN, November 6-8. Four scholarship and travel awards (valued at $1,000) are available to college students currently enrolled in the UW System and include conference registration, travel reimbursement, lodging and meals.

The Farmer Cooperatives Conference brings together top agricultural cooperative leadership and industry experts from across the country to examine strategic issues impacting farmer-owned cooperatives. This year’s program will address issues such as the current policy environment, agricultural trade in a time of uncertainty, blockchain, and the e-commerce landscape. The full program can be viewed at https://farmercoops.uwcc.wisc.edu/program/. Recipients will meet agricultural leaders, explore career opportunities in agriculture, and gain a great understanding of the cooperative and agribusiness sectors.

The application deadline is October 11. More information can be found at https://farmercoops.uwcc.wisc.edu/student-scholarship-travel-grant-award/. Apply at http://tiny.cc/FCC2019.

The Farmer Cooperatives Young Leaders Scholarship Program is made possible through the generous support of the Renk Agribusiness Institute and the William and Harold Moy Young Leaders Scholarship Fund.
