CALS mentors sought for PEOPLE Program summer enrichment program

For the past several summers, CALS has been collaborating with the UW–Madison PEOPLE Program to offer summer enrichment experiences to their students who will be seniors in high school who have indicated an interest in CALS-related careers. The PEOPLE program is the preeminent campus program, and a model program nationally, for attracting students from traditionally underrepresented student populations to campus.

We need your help! CALS has relied on the generosity of research mentors to offer placements in their research lab/area for a student in this program over a five week period in the summer. You can see details by going to the CALS Summer Program link. If you are interested in participating and taking on a student or two, please complete the survey on this link. We will then match students to potential internships based on shared interests and availability. We expect to have about 15-20 students in the cohort this summer. We would like to have available internship options in place by the end of February in order to make placements by the end of March.

Please feel free to share with colleagues or graduate students you think may be interested in serving as a mentor. PEOPLE Program sponsors the stipend for all of the students.
