VandenBosch: Resources for responding to sexual harassment

The following is a message from CALS Dean Kate VandenBosch:
Greetings-
Earlier today the university released records in response to media requests pertaining to sexual harassment and sexual assault complaints and investigations on campus over the past several years.
I want to take the opportunity to once again say that we take complaints of sexual harassment seriously as part of our broader effort to make sure the CALS climate is the best it can be, with an excellent learning and work environment for all students, faculty and staff.
There are a number of resources available to those who experience sexual harassment, including:
- Title IX Coordinator: The university’s Title IX Coordinator can share information about campus resources, including accommodations, protective measures, and how to file a complaint.
- Dean of Students Office: This office offers assistance and support to students with a variety of concerns, including sexual assault, domestic violence and stalking.
- University Health Servicesand Employee Assistance Office: These offices can offer confidential support.
Our Associate Dean for Human Resources, Carol Hillmer, is a resource for those who wish to speak with someone within CALS.
I am dedicated to nurturing a welcoming and supportive environment, where everyone feels safe and valued.
Sincerely,
Kate VandenBosch, Dean
