Update on UW-Extension Agricultural Weather Stations at Arlington and Hancock
The long-term UW-Extension Ag Weather stations at the Arlington and Hancock Agricultural Research Stations have received several equipment upgrades over the past year and a change in oversight. Real-time data is now being collected, processed and archived as part of the Michigan State University (MSU) Enviroweather Service. These two weather stations join eight other Wisconsin stations in Kewaunee and Door County that were previously made part of the MSU Enviroweather network in 2011. For Arlington, the MSU network started archiving data on Nov. 16, 2017, and at Hancock on Feb. 14, 2018. Therefore, for weather data on or after these dates, you should use the MSU website for access. Long-term archived data for the UW-Extension Ag Weather network will continue to be made available at agweather.cals.wisc.edu/awon. We note that there are some data gaps from mid-2017 to the time at which the UW stations joined the MSU network. If you have any comments or questions, please contact Prof. Chris Kucharik in the Dept. of Agronomy at UW–Madison (kucharik@wisc.edu).
