UW–Madison’s 19th annual improvement Showcase will take place on Wednesday, March 21 at Union South. Showcase provides a unique forum for UW faculty, staff and administrators to share with their peers and learn about good ideas to adapt for their own units.

This is a free half-day event that consists of poster exhibits, breakout sessions, poster flash talks, and a keynote presentation. To register and learn more about Showcase, visit

This will be the first year that the Office of Strategic Consulting will be sponsoring the event as a newly merged unit (the Office of Strategic Consulting was created by the merger of the Office of Quality Improvement, which has traditionally sponsored the event, and the Administrative Process Redesign office).

This year’s keynote speaker is Mark Guthier, Director of the Wisconsin Union, whose presentation, “From Vision to Reality: The Transformation of the Wisconsin Union,” will offer highlights and lessons learned from the 10-year journey to restore the historic Memorial Union and re-envision Union South.

You are welcome to attend all or portions of the Showcase event, which runs from 8 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Continental breakfast will be available throughout the morning.

Although attendance at Showcase is free, registration in advance is appreciated.
