USDA seeks nominations for Excellence in University Teaching in the Food and Agricultural Sciences Award

USDA has issued their call for nominations to the National Awards Program for Excellence in College and University Teaching in the Food and Agricultural Sciences. As anticipated, this year adds a new category of awards, the “Teaching and Student Engagement” awards, which highlights “those whose appointment is either entirely teaching and advising or has a a very high teaching component (at least 75 percent) and for whom research responsibilities would be minimal.”

Please take a careful look at the nomination guidelines and form before submitting an application. Applications are due by March 15, though there is an error in the nomination guidelines (it still reads 2017).

As always, these awards are open to those teaching in the fields of agriculture, natural resources, forestry, veterinary medicine, human sciences/family and consumer sciences, and other, closely allied fields.
