Please join the CALS Equity & Diversity Committee for the committee’s next Fall 2017 Lunch and Learn Series: “Bystander Intervention,” which will take place Monday, Nov. 13 from noon – 1 p.m. in room 1520 of the Microbial Sciences Building. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lunches.
Bystander Intervention is the idea that we all have a role to play in the prevention of violence in our community. A bystander is someone who witnesses a dangerous or harmful event and has the ability to help. Through training and practice, we can become empowered to interrupt and challenge harmful behaviors and attitudes that may lead to negative campus climate. This session will provide take-away points for how to be an effective advocate for creating safe spaces here on campus.
