UW-Madison will host a Grow by FarmHer event on Nov. 9. It is the third in a series of university-hosted events designed to inspire, educate and empower young women ages 16-22 in agriculture to take an active role in leading the industry. The Madison event was coordinated locally by dairy science professor Heather White and extension dairy youth specialist Kalyanna Williams in the UW-Madison Department of Dairy Science.
Grow by FarmHer attendees will experience empowering and educational speakers, be introduced to skills needed to be successful leaders and receive the encouragement and inspiration needed to grow as young women in the agriculture industry. This unique series is an investment in the future of agriculture, as attendees will become tomorrow’s producers, business owners, and industry leaders.
