David Nehls, retired biochemistry employee, dies at 59
David Nehls, a retired employee of the Department of Biochemistry, passed away on Aug. 24, 2016. He was 59.
Nehls served as a supervisor in the department from 2003 to 2015, with previous service to the Graduate School and the School of Medicine and Public Health. He was born on July 5, 1957 and grew up in Poynette, Wis. There he married and raised four children. He served the University of Wisconsin–Madison for a total of 37 years by assisting labs with important medical research.
A frequent volunteer, avid outdoorsman, and seasoned youth coach, Nehls touched the lives of many around him. Along with his four children, he and his wife had six grandchildren.
