Daughters of Demeter was formed in 1917 by a group of women whose spouses were faculty in CALS. Since then, the organization has welcomed women faculty members and recently invited its first male member.
The inaugural Daughters of Demeter scholarship of $25 was awarded in 1944. That support has grown over the years, and, in the last decade, the organization awarded more than $300,000 in scholarships and grants to CALS students and student organizations.
The Daughters of Demeter will kick off its centennial year at the Annual Corn Roast on Wednesday, September 7 at 5 p.m. at Lakeview Park in Middleton, WI. Download the registration form.
