Thierno Diallo, a senior research specialist in the Department of Agronomy, recently published his first book, “Nieggri” in Moscow under Gorbachev: My life as a foreign student in USSR (CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, 2016).
In the book, Diallo describes his six-year experience as a foreign student in the Soviet Union at the height of the Cold War, facing racism, food shortages, crime and witnessing pivotal historical events.
