Last year, the Graduate School allocated $10 million in campus funds for bridge funding to offset the devastating effects of Sequestration on Federal research spending. This $10 million supported 172 projects averaging $57,383 per award. The FY14 bridge funding program stipulated that the funds needed to be expended within the year.
This year, there is an additional allocation for bridge funding, administered by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Education (VCRGE). This allocation includes $3 million from the campus matched by $3 million from WARF. Unlike FY14, there is no timeline by which the current funds must be expended. The allocations will be made following two processes:
- $2 million administered by the Schools and Colleges
- $4 million administered by the Office of the VCRGE
- February 1, June 1, October 1. Particularly urgent requests will be considered as needed.
