Students lap up Dogs on Call event at Allen Centennial Gardens

Screen Shot 2015-09-26 at 2.17.26 PMAfter watching the RSVPs rack up on the Allen Centennial Gardens’ Dogs on Call Facebook Event post, garden director Ben Futa decided to book more dogs for event—which was held last week—upping the original order of six to 11. And it’s a good thing he did.

The weather was perfect and almost 600 students showed up.

According to Futa, who is ramping up the garden’s outreach and engagement efforts, it was the largest number of students to attend a garden event this year. A student Welcome Party earlier in the month drew around 300.

Futa says he plans to have Dogs on Call return in the spring.
