Amanda Gevens honored by phytopathological society

Gevens_Portrait_2009Assistant professor of plant pathology Amanda Gevens is the recipient of the 2015 Early Career Award from the American Phytopathological’s Society North Central Division.

Gevens, who is respected for her expertise in potato and vegetable disease identification, characterization and management, is also a UW-Extension plant pathologist.

The award was announced at a recent APS NCD meeting. It is designed to recognizes early-career scientist for their contribution to discovery, learning, and/or engagement in plant pathology in the North Central region. The award recognizes individuals for contributions in research, extension, teaching and/or industry.
