Great prizes, upcoming deadline for UW’s Cool Science Images Contest

CALS fielded two of last year’s 10 winning entries, including this photograph of a bumblebee alighting on a starflower by Mike Geiger, a graduate student in horticulture.

The deadline for the 2015 UW-Madison Cool Science Images Contest is fast approaching. Entries for the contest, which seeks to highlight the visual and scientific value of scientific imagery, are due on Friday, March 5.

This year’s winners will be announced in mid- to late-March. Each winner will receive a $100 Downtown Madison gift certificate, and winning images will be published on The Why Files. In addition, winners receive a poster-size print of their submitted image. All qualified entries will be displayed in a slide show at the 2015 Wisconsin Science Festival.
