CALS’ Nancy Keller and Ron Raines appointed to WARF professorships

Two CALS professors were among six UW-Madison faculty recently appointed to Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation named professorships in 2014:

Nancy P. Keller, Robert L. Metzenberg and Kenneth B. Raper Professor of Mycology, whose research is on the genetic regulation of metabolism and fungal development, focusing on the virulence of the human pathogen Aspergillus fumigatus.

Ronald Raines, Linus Pauling Professor of Chemical Biology, has produced an enzyme in clinical trials as an anti-cancer agent, created stable synthetic collagens and devised chemical processes to convert biomass into refined fuels and chemicals.
