Dairy student grillistas drew longest lines at World Dairy Expo

grilled_cheeseJudges had to make a lot of tough calls in nine cattle contests at this year’s World Dairy Expo, but the competition for “favorite food stand” wasn’t close to close. No matter how you tried to time it, the lines never seemed to get shorter at the Badger Dairy Club’s grilled cheese sandwich stand—not even during the steady rain that came Friday at noon. With and without raincoats and umbrellas, customers didn’t seem to mind waiting 20 minutes for the best deal on the grounds: Two bucks for a sandwich, one buck for a milkshake. The total count isn’t available, but 5,800 were sold on the last day of the show. Probably a few of the grillistas had to ice down their wrists after all that deft spatula work.
