Undergrads hope Popular Science contest will crowd-fund their bio lightbulb project

A team of UW–Madison students, including a CALS biochem major, has entered a crowd-funding contest sponsored by Popular Science magazine to get support for their efforts to make a light bulb powered by a small-scale ecosystem of microbes. The Biobulb team intends to work in the lab of of Kalin Vetsigian, assistant professor of bacteriology.
